COVID-19: Krishnagar Police District provides PPE kits to journalists as frontline warriors

KRISHNAGAR, 15 MAY: The Krishnagar police district, today, has provided around
50 personal protective equipment (PPE) kits to the journalists covering news
related to Covid-19 in the field.
Zafar Ajmal Kidwai,
superintendent of police, said, “Along with doctors, paramedical staff, nurses,
police and sanitation workers, the media journalists are also doing the
Covid-19 coverage on the frontline and they often visit several suspected areas
for newsgathering. Therefore, we decided to equip them with PPEs for their
safety as media is an important tool to fight against the Covid-19, as it is
providing day to day factual information to the public and also spreading
awareness”.
“The use of PPE kits
while coverage will give safety to journalists and they will work confidently”,
said Maqsood Hasan, DSP (D&T).
Giving details about
PPE kits, Brajendra Mohan Dutta, OC, Computer Cell said, “Each kit consists of
one PPE, one hand sanitiser bottle and a cotton mask.”
The journalists and
photographers who attended the programme thanked Mr Kidwai for providing
important kits during this tough time.
