Anganwadi workers donate Rs 6.7 lakh to CM's state emergency relief fund to fight against Covid-19

KRISHNAGAR, 6 MAY: Anganwadi workers in Nadia district have donated Rs 670800 to chief minister’s state emergency relief fund for providing help to the poor people hit by lockdown due to the dreaded coronavirus outbreak, today.
They handed over cheques to the district magistrate Vibhu Goel in presence of sabhadhipati Rikta Kundu, state’s correctional services minister Ujjal Biswas, minister of state for MSME, Ratna Ghosh (Kar) and Trinamul Congress MLA Kallol Khan.
Hundreds of anganwadi workers from across 14 blocks in the district have contributed their earnings to the chief minister's state emergency relief fund to fight against dreaded virus, said Sadhan Ghosh, leader of West Bengal Trinamul Congress Anganwadi workers' Welfare Association.
Another organization, PHE Water Supply Employees Union also donated Rs 10100 to CM’s state emergency relief fund.
Mr Goel lauded the Anganwadi workers’ effort and said everyone should come forward to help the government in its fight against the pandemic.
