KRISHNAGAR,
9 JUNE: A 50-year-old man, who recently returned his home from Maharashtra, was
found dead in front of his house this morning.
The
district health official said the man was in home quarantine at his Panditpur
house under Hanskhali police station limits in Nadia. He returned his home on
28 May and he had undergone a medical checkup at Jaguli on that day. As he had
no symptom of coronavirus infection, he was advised to stay in home quarantine
for 14 days.
Local
residents and family members said that the man used to stay in his house alone
to prevent the spread of virus among the family members. His members are
currently staying at their relative’s house. For the last two days, he had been
suffering from sore throat. This morning, he was found lying on the ground in
front of his house.
“On
seeing him lying on the ground, we immediately informed the police. Later,
doctors from block hospital came here and announced that he was already died.
The reason of his death was not primarily ascertained, but the doctors said he
died of cardiac failure”, a local resident said.
The
family members, however, alleged that the district health authorities had
advised him to stay in home quarantine, but they did not carry out any medical
health checkup. Even, they did not take swab sample from him for test. “So, how
we will be assured that he was not infected by the coronavirus”, a family
member alleged.
A
district health official said the body has been sent to the hospital for
autopsy and the medical staff will take swab sample for test to ascertain
whether he was infected by the dreaded virus.
Meanwhile,
the corona infected graph slided down in Nadia with no positive case has been
reported today in compared to the spike of the positive cases in the last few
days.
