50 battalion of CRPF celebrates Independence Day in once Maoist infested Lalgarh

MIDNAPORE, 15 AUG: The 50 battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated the 74th Independence Day along with locals in once ultra-Left Maoist-affected Lalgarh in Jhargram today.
In
the day long series of events, celebration was started with National flag
hoisting ceremony at Little Flower Nursery School, Lalgarh, followed by tree
plantation at Unit Hqr & National flag hoisting at Quarter Guard and
interaction with retired CRPF personnel, Divyangjans, School children, officers
& jawans of this unit.
Shri Bajrang Lal, Commandant-50 Bn. welcomed the august gathering and highlighted the historical importance of Independence Day and announced names of medal awardees of CRPF on the occasion of Independence day -2020.
On this occasion Dr. A.K.Roy, CMO (SG), Sh T.P.Baghel, Dy.Comdt.-50Bn, retired CRPF personnel Ex ASI/GD Pradeep Kumar Saha, Ex ASI/GD Gour Hari Saha, Ex HC/GD Dilip Das, Ex HC/GD Trisankar Mahata, residing in the AOR of Unit, Divyangjans person, School children, Jawans and other respected dignitaries were present on the occasion of National festival.
