Amit Shah visits Bengal: The controversy has provided the Trinamul with ammunition to attack the BJP ahead of Assembly polls due next year; a party tweet dismissed the BJP as "bohiragato  (outsiders)"

KOLKATA, 6 NOV: Trinamul Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Shekhar Roy today rubbished the allegations made by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and said, "he has only come here to spread confusion." 

He also slammed the Union Home Minister for saying that in Bengal there is "criminalisation of politics" in West Bengal. 

He said, "we have seen during NRC and CAA thousands of college students, professors, intellectuals and civil society groups had hit the streets in New Delhi to protest .Then during a meeting a Union Minister openly said "Goli Maaro Saalo Koro." Mr Roy condemned this and said that at that time the Mr Shah kept mum. 

He said, "Mr Shah today stated that his Government believed in democracy. What kind of a democracy is this where a Union minister openly asks his party cadres to shoot at protestors?"

He said, "We have witnessed how the Central Government has misused its powers by harassing former Union ministers and imminent personalities through central agencies."

Mr Roy also slammed the Governor and called him a mouthpiece of the Central Government.

He asked, "Why did Mr Shah not visit Hathras where a Dalit girl was raped and her body was burned without the consent of her family members after her death. Reporters were not allowed to enter Hathras or meet the victim's family almost 48 hours after her death. In that same month 13 rape cases were committed in UP. In Haryana, another BJP run state a woman was shot dead in public place."

He also said that according to the NCRB report UP registered highest cases crimes against women. He also said that the Central Government should come clear on the PM CARES Fund and on Kashmir issues. 

Mr Roy slammed Mr Shah stating that they want to pass off every death even suicides as their party workers. 

Trinamul Congress Rajya Sabha MP and party's national spokesperson, DerekOBrien today slammed union home minister Amit Shah and said " you may be expert of Gujarat Gymkhana but not of Bengal."'

He called Amit Shah as 'Bhahiragato are it again!' He said,"union home minister is so ignorant of Bengal culture that he garlanded wrong idol of Bhagwan  Birsha Munda and placed his photograph on someone else's foot.Mr O'Brien asked,''does he have any respect for the people of Bengal?"

Mr Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamul MP from Diamond Harbour, stated that reality behind Amit  Shah ji's token meal that he used ST Community & the concerned family as political tool  and didn't even bother to speak to them for a moment. 

He asked,"Mr Home Minister do you come home for a photo-op?"

Abhishek Banerjee today slammed the Union home minister Amit Shah for wooing the Schedule Tribes of  Bankura .

He said," in one year, atrocities against the Schedule Caste in BJP -led UP has increased fivefold.

The recent rape of a Dalit girl  at Hathras and how she cremated without the presence of her family members is still fresh in our mind."

He asked,"rather than having fake appeasement meal,  Amit Shah ji why don't you address the actual issues that matters their life.'"

He also said that Mamata Banerjee has reached out  to 1.25 lakh marginalised and vulnerable communities and granted them land rights. She has also announced Development Boards for Matias and Namashudra counties
